Functional Reflex Therapy

Initial Consultation and 1 hour reflexology

1 hour reflexology

All under 18’s to be accompanied by an adult.

Together, we will go through the reason you have attended for your appointment, your medical history and any medication you may be taking.  We will make a plan about what we are hoping to achieve and when we might start to see results.  This gives clients control over their treatment.

After your initial consultation and your first appointment, I will research any medication you are taking, and any medical conditions you have presented with.  With knowledge of the human body systems, I will put together a treatment plan.  This plan is not set in stone and may change as treatment progresses.

Reflexology is not an intrusive therapy and results are achieved using specific types of pressure on different reflex points mainly on the soles of the feet but also the hands.  Some reflexes may be tender, this can be described as a 'good pain'.  The treatment can also be deeply relaxing, and you may experience sensations in other areas of your body.  The treatment often leaves you with a lovely lively feeling in your feet and relaxed in mind and body.  Occasionally, a reflexology treatment can bring about a healing reaction where you have a temporary worsening of symptoms.  This can be concerning, but is actually a very positive sign that the body is going through the process of healing itself.

Functional Reflex Therapy (FRT) was developed by Lorraine Senior, a UK based reflexologist who, as a teacher for over 20 years, supported children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and their families.

Functional Reflex Therapy is designed to empower those who support children and adults with autism spectrum disorders, learning difficulties and complex needs with skills to deliver the rainbow relaxation routine at a time convenient to you.

It cannot be underestimated that when you are delivering a relaxing touch, you will connect with that person in the most beautiful and positive way.

FRT induces relaxation, helps improve mood, reduces anxiety, improves sleep, supports wellbeing, encourages the receiver to be more receptive, encourages social interaction and has a positive effect on the issues that affect individuals and people around them in many areas of their everyday lives.
